Some consumers paid more than $50,000 for their memberships, the FTC alleged in its complaint, filed in U.S. District Court for the Central District of California. In total, the companies allegedly raked in more than $14 million by duping consumers, according to the FTC.<\/p>\n<p>On February 1, U.S. District Court Judge John Kronstadt in the Central District of California entered a temporary restraining order banning Digital Altitude and the other companies from misrepresenting their program.
